To put the science of skin back into skincare by taking a holistic, simple approach to caring for the largest organ of our body.

Filomena Arends, who had over 60 years of experience in the beauty industry, developed the GINAMARIE Product line. The inspiration behind wanting to develop a skincare line came from losing her first husband at a very early age from Melanoma. In the 1960s, very little was known about skin cancer, and by the time the diagnosis was made, it was too late. Filomena was widowed at age 30. As her life continued, this painful experience remained. In the early 1960s, she owned and operated the first cosmetology school in the suburbs of Chicago. In the late 1970’s, she opened Woman’s World Spa. This was a place where women would come to be pampered and educated all at once. At Women’s World, women would receive facials, body wraps, new hairstyles, makeovers, nutrition classes, yoga, and more. With each entrepreneurship endeavor, she was moving toward the development of a new skincare line that could be used by women, men, and children. Filomena was on a mission to create products that were simple and effective and took a commonsense approach to care for our skin.

When formulating the product line, she made the decision to name the company after her only daughter, Gina Marie. “My mother’s passion was to educate others about the health of their skin from a holistic perspective so that they could have the understanding and awareness she did not have so many years ago. She formulated our skincare line to be compatible with skin as an organ ensuring that each product is pH-balanced, water-based, gentle, antioxidant-rich, and made with naturally derived ingredients.” Once the GINAMARIE skincare line was in place, Filomena knew that clean cosmetics were the next step to incorporate into the line. “Every woman wears makeup,” she would say, “and to have them put cosmetics on that will plug the pores makes no sense whatsoever.”

With so many products on the market, GINAMARIE has found its niche by specializing in professional and consumer education. Having a personal relationship with our clients is a top priority. We are not looking to “sell”; but rather to educate both the professional and the consumer on their skin and then let them make an informed decision on caring for it. My mother developed GINAMARIE Products over 45 years ago with the intention of offering personalized skincare products and professional treatments aimed at improving the health of our client’s skin. It is with tremendous pride that I can say our commitment to providing our clients with the finest holistic skincare and clean cosmetics continues in the GINAMARIE Product tradition.

Gina Marie McGuire is a licensed esthetician, and president of GINAMARIE Products and Continuing Educations, Inc. She has over 32 years of experience in the skincare industry and has been educating professionals and consumers for the majority of her career. Gina Marie’s philosophy on caring for skin has always been from the scientific point of view versus the marketing side of skincare. Her approach to understanding and caring for the skin is from a holistic perspective. She feels strongly that when treating skin from a health standpoint, the results are amazing. Gina Marie brings a wealth of information to the classroom as she has extensive experience in retail, manufacturing, wholesaling, educating, marketing, and clinical skin therapy treatments. She is considered a leading expert in the skincare field and has a strong desire to share her wealth of knowledge in the advancement of the beauty industry. As a result of her leadership, Gina Marie was nominated for the 2019 Aestheticians’ Choice Award for Brand Educator and is an editorial contributor in professional skin magazines. Furthermore, Gina Marie has been asked on multiple occasions to share her insight at local and national conferences for professionals in the industry and consumers alike.

In 2020, she launched a professional men’s skincare line, GM Revolution. Gina Marie recognized that the trend of men’s skincare was growing and saw the need to normalize men’s skincare through a simple yet effective line.

Gina Marie’s passion for educating professionals continues with the additional advanced training program, at Esthetic Skincare Institute. GINAMARIE’s sister company, Continuing Educations, Inc., offers a variety of classes and a multitude of home study courses available for continuing education for license renewal in the state of Illinois.

With the same intention as her mother, Gina Marie has made it her mission to educate, inspire, and ultimately make a difference in the lives of those she encounters.
