Decoding skincare products is essential for optimizing effectiveness and ensuring compatibility with skin types. It involves understanding key elements such as ingredients, pH balance, and the expected results.

This class will give the professional a clearer understanding of ingredients and pH as both are the backbone of any skincare product. Ingredients reveal the effectiveness and the expected results of each product as well as a combination of products working together. We will look at components such as  emollients, humectants, and occlusives that work together to moisturize and protect the skin paired with antioxidants and preservatives.

Explore the critical role of pH balance in skincare products, as it is essential for preserving the skin’s natural barrier. Products with a pH that is too high or too low can disrupt this balance, potentially causing dryness, irritation, or breakouts. Students will gain hands-on experience in testing products for both effectiveness and pH balance, enhancing their understanding of optimal skincare formulations.
